Google Adwords

I immediately tried using google adwords. The keywords I put in were working right after I signed up. However, after checking over the weekend the keywords were no longer working. Is there anyone else who has used the system and experienced similar problems?

Google Design

I thorougly enjoyed last week's presentation, especially the first presentation. The way his company took advantage of the marketing concepts of "interrupt, engage, educate, and offer" was both interesting and new.

Of the opportunities presented at this presentation, the main question that rose to my mind was the specifics of how google determines high value websites. I have heard of meta tags, links inside the website, etc. as important factors in which it considers but I have not seen a consolidated resource which explains it. I understand that it is quite complex but anything that might be helpful in designing a high content website that would be picked up by google would be very helpful.

Reading Commentary

In catching up on the material for class, I will be making a flurry of blogs this upcoming week. To start of, I just wanted to share a few thoughts on the "RSS Feeds can build web raffic, but Fence Sitters note problems" article.

Of the things that I have been noticing recently, the importance of standardization is a recurrent theme for internet technologies - RSS included despite being such a new tool. Remembering an article which likened the software industry to the Automobile industry, it's interesting to see how the software industry will mature - becoming more standardized and offering added-value to consumers. The article specifically addressed the battle with Linux, Oracle, etc. and how it's limiting potential possibilities for consumers. In the near future standards will eliminate such boundaries - information will be able to flow freely and new innovations can be born - RSS feeds is just one such innovation

Looking at Blog O' Rama's posts, he discussed some interesting issues regarding how people can make money off of RSS feeds. This was a recurring thought when I was reading the article, because RSS feeds are indeed operating like Tivo. Besides using RSS feeds on classified Ads, I was wondering if anyone else had more ideas about how to make money off of RSS news feeds.
